Richest African woman, billionaire Folorunsho Alakija admits she never went to university

One of Africa's richest women and chairman of Famfa Oil, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija yesterday August 27th revealed that she never went to a university, saying one does not need a university education to make it in life. Mrs Alakija said this while speaking with students of the University of Lagos during the 2014 UN International Youths Day in Lagos.

"I come from Ikorodu, Lagos state. I am married to a dashing young lawyer of 70 years of age and we have four grown up gentlemen and grandchildren. It has not been a rag to riches fairytale. It has not been an overnight phenomenon like some cases which you find here and there all over the world. For as long as I can remember, I had always wanted my own business. Hard work...am trying to tell you how I got to where I am if you want those billions. Hard work, diligence, persistence...days where you nearly gave up but I chose not to give up."

It would have been easy to compromise but I chose not to and I stayed focus. I could have stayed a secretary as my father desired according to his plan for me but I had bigger aspirations. I dreamt big. God strengthened me and gave me wisdom. I had a passion and burning desire to succeed. Being a secretary, a banker, a fashion icon, a cooperate promoter and printer, a real estate owner, an oil magnate, that I can assure you was no easy feat. Firm belief that what is worth doing is what doing well or not doing at all. I took charge of my life with the tools I have shared with you. I chose to become born again at the age of 40. I chose to make a covenant with God that if he would bless me I would work for him all the days of my life. I chose to hold on to the cross and look up to him every step of the way. Today additional accomplishment includes a wife of almost 40 years, a mother, grandmother, ministry, counseling, outreach, NGO Rose of Sharon Foundation for widows and Author, writer, author of several inspirational books. All I say to the glory of God. So I am 63 and I am not yet done. So what is your excuse? I never went to a University and I am proud to say so because I don't think I have done too badly. You do not have to have a University education to be able to make it so count yourselves privileged to have that education as part of the feather in your cap" she said.

Pastor Oyakhilome’s wife files for divorce in London court, alleges adultery

According to The Cable, the dissolution of the marriage between Christ Embassy Church founder, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome, has entered the final phase.

The wife is seeking divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery”. She outlined several allegations against the pastor which cannot publish for legal reasons. The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita’s behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence. 

 Efforts to reconcile the popular couple, whose church is one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and has branches all over world, have failed. They have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn." Continue...

Oyakhilome is the president of Believers’ Love World Inc, the registered name of the Christian ministry, while his wife is the vice-president. The pastor, according to an elder of the church, has denied allegations of adultery and believes his wife is being influenced by “bad friends” who are intent on destroying their home. While Anita believes she has been relegated in the scheme of things in the church, her husband has reportedly accused her of trying to usurp power and authority above her seniors in the ministry. Sources told TheCable that the pastor had been making efforts to avoid divorce in the hope that the wife would eventually have a change of mind. However, the decree nissi was served on the charismatic pastor in his hotel room during a recent visit to the UK. Decree nissi, in legal terms, is like a yellow card in a football match which is a precursor to a red card (“decree absolute”) if no new evidence is provided to stall proceedings. Church insiders said Oyakhilome had been hoping for rapprochement, but he was left with no option than to receive the papers when the lawyers cornered him at his hotel in London. The decree absolute, which will effectively end the marriage, is expected to be issued soon while terms of the divorce will be worked out by the lawyers on both sides.

  The world's richest surprisingly rents a $5million-a-week super yacht that cost $330million to build.

Bill Gates, worth $76billion, his wife Melinda and their three children Rory, Jennifer and Phoebe are currently holidaying in a super luxury yacht moored off the coast of Sardinia, Italy.

The 436ft yacht called The Serene is owned by Stolichnaya vodka magnate, Yuri Scheffler, and is the world's 9th largest yacht. It has two helicopter landing pads, 12 staterooms, which includes a master suite, one VIP stateroom, seven double cabins and three twin cabins. It has an indoor climbing wall, a dedicated children's playroom, a fully equipped spa and club, three external swimming pools and one indoors, and an underwater viewing room. BREAKING NEWS: Earthquake storms Johannesburg, South Africa, Kills 1

Its a moment of fear in Southern Africa as a 5.3 earthquake this morning August 5th shook buildings in Johannesburg and surrounding areas. The occurrence killed one person and injuring at least 3 people. The tremor which lasted just one minute reportedly broke glasses, cracked walls and aftershocks were felt by many.

According to Werner Vermaak, a spokesman for emergency responders, at least one person was killed and three people injured. The man was reportedly killed when a wall of a disused mining building fell on him in the Orkney area of Johannesburg, which is where the quake was centred.

The other three people were hurt when the quake damaged a training center at a mine, said Phoka Sefali, a receptionist at a hospital in Orkney. "The roof fell on them, but they haven't got serious injuries," he told Associated Press.

The quake was also felt in Pretoria and Hartbeespoort, a nearby resort town.

'Hand of God' pictured emerging from the clouds by a UK photographer (Look)

Suprised? Same here. This shows that God is wonderful, and for those who still believe there is no God, this is for you.
A38 year old British photographer, David Christie, said he captured the stunning moment a gigantic 'hand' appeared through the clouds above his home, and he thinks the fist-like wind funnel is the 'Hand of God'.
He told reperters that;

"I love weather photography and I've taken a few pictures of small wind funnels in the past. But this was something else. It looked as through there was a huge hand piercing through the clouds - it was phenomenal. It really did seem like the hand of God. My wife and I are both photographers and we've never seen anything like this. This was a very surreal experience."

London resident Claire Leeson has become one of the many people to cash in her savings in order to look like a celebrity, finding herself in $30,000 worth of debt which she spent on plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancements get the same look as her Keeping Up With the Kardashians idol.

A 24-year-old Leeson told This Morning, "I was told every day that I was the ‘ugliest thing alive' and I should ‘kill myself.'"

She continued, "When I left school friends would tell me that I had a resemblance to Kim.  So, I watched [Keeping Up With the Kardashians] and realized I had the same amount of siblings and that we have the same kind of arguments and things going on. Problem is, FIFA guidelines state only winners of the tournament and Heads of State are allowed to handle the official World Cup Trophy and Badgal RiRi is neither...but who cares? Not Rihanna. After fans around the world lit into her for touching the trophy, Rihanna fired back unbothered.

Karrueche tearfully opens up about 'battling' Rihanna over Chris Brown

Chris Brown's girlfriend emotionally opened up about her love triangle with Chris Brown & Rihanna during an interview on Just Keke, hosted by actress turned talk show host Keke Palmer. When asked about the drama surrounding the triangle, Karrueche said;

“The reason why people tuned into this so much was because it’s relatable. It’s the case of the ex. We all go through it. In this case, my boyfriend is a celebrity whose ex-girlfriend is even bigger… so, not only am I fighting a battle with her, I’m fighting a battle with her 14 million fans or however else.
