  • At least three people are dead after a shooting spree stretching from Ladera Ranch into Tustin and Orange.

It all started around 4:45 a.m. when Orange County sheriff’s deputies responded to call of shots fired at 5 Red Leaf Lane in Ladera Ranch.

They found a female deceased with multiple gunshot wounds, according to sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.

The relationship between the suspect and the victim was not immediately clear.

The suspect, a male in his 20s, fled in an SUV into the Tustin area, where there were multiple shootings, Amormino said.

Tustin police responded to a call of a carjacking with shots fired around 5:30 a.m. near a Shell station at Red Hill Avenue and the 5 Freeway.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect armed with two long guns.

Police then responded to a carjacking and fatal shooting near the 55 Freeway off-ramp at McFadden Avenue and Tustin Village Way.

There was another scene at Edinger and Del Amo avenues in Tustin, behind an electronics store. That’s where the suspect reportedly shot two people during a carjacking.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, and the second was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers located the suspect in the stolen vehicle shortly after and tried to initiate a traffic stop.

The suspect then shot and killed himself at Wanda Road and Katella Avenue in the city of Orange.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the investigation, including the O.C. Sheriff’s Department, Tustin police and Orange police.
