English actor Idris Elba was in a potentially life threatening accident while filming the racing documentary King of Speed for BBC2.
The Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom star was driving when his car lost contact with a gravel road. Elba was uninjured, but says he "never want(s) to do that again", adding that "the car just had a mind of its own".
Kind of like the motor cycle in the Ghost Rider franchise of films. Elba stars in the second installment of the movie, Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance, alongside Nicholas Cage.
King of Speed features Idris discussing his long-time love of fast cars and fast driving, but he insists that this is the first time he has ever rolled a car.
Elba, who recently announced that he and his girlfriend are expecting a child, also reveals in the film that he bought his first car at the age of 14, because he looked so much older, adding "when you have facial hair at 14, people don't ask your age!"
