Breaking News: John Dramani Mahama Wins Ghana Presidential Election 2012/2013

  • President John Dramani Mahama as being emerge the President of Ghana.

    Chairman for the Electoral Commission, Dr kwadwo Afari on Sunday evening declared Ghana's sitting president John Dramani Mahama as the winner of the 2012 presidential elections.

    President Mahama of the ruling National Democratic Party secured the total of  5,574,761 votes  representing 50.70 per cent of the total votes cast while his closest rival Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party polled 5,248,898 votes, representing 47.74 per cent.

    Mr. Mahama, 54, of the National Democratic Congress became the president of Ghana in July after the death of his former president Prof. John Atta Mills.

    Nana Akufor Addo, 68, of the New Patriotic Party is standing election for the second time after losing the election to Mr. Mills in 2008

    The ECOWAS election observation group claims there was no report of rigging or malpractice as against the rumor being peddled by some section.

    With the success of the year 2012 election, Ghana has once again proven to the world that his democracy is maturing, and the country is politically stable.
