  • What skills or personal attributes are most important to be successful in Music?
Everybody has his/her own skills that attribute to their own success but mine is different, because I believe my style of writing and my lyrics is so inspirational and my skills of composing the songs are so unique, that is what has brought me this far.
What are the typical mistakes people make when trying to pursue music as a career?
In everything you do, you need to look at the background you are coming from because that is very important. Never forget that not everybody in the family embraces your idea of being a musician because of the lifestyle and the negative perception people have about the industry. You must be someone who is ready to learn from others because nobody is perfect no matter the peak you have reached in the industry.
Most of the musicians are so desperate to be stars leaving a lot of loop holes behind them. I always say that slow motion is better than no motion, so they should not rush to be somebody they admire in the industry. They should learn the ropes.
How do you get people to take you serious as a Musician?
Actually it depends on the way you behave towards your fans, the way you brand yourself and also it depends on the style of music you present to them. Don’t forget people keep their eyes on you every second, so you need to be classy and deliver the best to their satisfaction.
You dropped “Metanfo” last year, what was the motive behind it?
“Metanfo” means my enemy and it was a sound track that I did for a movie. Everyone has enemies and the story line of the movie said it all. When I was approached to do the soundtrack I had a pre-conceived idea of what to say as everyone at one point or the other has experienced something with the enemy. So the motive behind the song was to keep everyone alert on their toes.
    So that was not Personal?
Not at all, it is not the way you think, even though after releasing the song, most people who knew me took it personal but as time went on they got to understand I was creating a piece for a movie. When I write my music I look at things that go on around us because in life there are so many things that are going on and I relate to them and put them in my songs.
Do you echo your past in your music?
Yes I do. 'Give it to Baba' is one of the songs that echo my past and it has touched a lot of people’s heart including the Tottenham Hotspurs striker Adebayor.
Talking of Adebayor, there is a rumor that you went to meet him in his Togo resident for help; how true is that?
Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor over the week invited me to his residence in Lome, Togo. Adebayor has many of my songs on his playlist for quite some time now and has always wanted to meet me and that finally happened. I was glad to meet him as I admire his footballing skills too. Adebayor praised and congratulated me for a job well done in touching lives and encouraging people through my music.
