'They would have hated me' - Oprah speaks on why she doesn't regret having kids

TV legend Oprah Winfrey chose not to get married or have children and she says looking back now at age 59, she doesn't regret her decision. In an interview with Hollywood Reporters, Oprah said if she'd had children they would have been neglected because of how busy her life was.

"If I had kids, my kids would hate me. They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me, because something in my life would have had to suffer and it would've probably been them. Gayle (now a mother of two) was the kind of kid who, in seventh grade class, was writing down her name and the names of her children while I was having daydreams about how I could be a Martin Luther King".

With a net worth of $2.9 billion, Oprah is one the richest women in the world. She owns TV Network OWN, the O and Oprah Magazine as well as vast real estate stakes. She has been in a relationship with Stedman Graham since 1986.

Oprah Winfrey awarded highest civilian honour by President Obama

President Obama yesterday Nov. 20th presented talk show legend and media mogul Oprah Winfrey and 15 others with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is America's highest civilian honor. The award is given to individuals who have made "meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the US, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”

President Obama called Oprah "the pinnacle of the entertainment universe," as he put the medal on her neck. Former President Bill Clinton, country star Loretta Lynn, women's rights activist Gloria Steinem, baseball legend Ernie Banks and astronaut Sally Ride also received the award yesterday.

Oprah Winfrey Dons Huge Afro Wig on Cover of O Magazine

 
Oprah Winfrey goes big on the cover of her magazine O's latest edition. The media mogul dons a huge O-shaped wig and flashes a big smile on the front page. The 3.5-pound wig was created by stylist Kim Kimble, who has worked on "The Voice" and done Beyonce Knowles' hair.

The hair-raising cover is to accompany the "O Extravaganza" issue which appropriately goes through all aspects of hair. "Just revealed this new cover of O, The Oprah Magazine - one of my faves ever," the TV host hypes it up. "Let's talk about HAIR! Love this cover so much, I'm making it my new profile pic!"

"I wish I could say it was all mine," Winfrey says of her big wig. "In fact, though, it's borrowed. And it feels like carrying around an extra head." She adds, "My own hair is shorter, not quite so spherical, and a lot lighter. But that doesn't mean it never gives me grief. When it comes to hair, I'm in the same boat as most every other woman."

Oprah Winfrey is back as the No.1 most powerful celebrity in the world as perceived in a list recently released by Forbes, a position the US Billionaire Talk show host held four times before. She was runner up in 2011 and 2012.

Forbes calculates celebrity's earnings on income from tours, books, contracts, endorsements, movies and residuals, plus presence on social media and in the press for their placing.

Rihanna made her Mum, Monica Braithwaite so happy as, she gives her the biggest surprise of the one hour special interview with Oprah - a brand new five bedroom home in Barbados.
To make the big reveal, in true Oprah fashion, the talk show host invited Monica to the home under the guise that she would be doing an interview alongside her daughter for the show. As the unsuspecting Monica arrived at the lavish mansion with her son and Rihanna’s brother Rajad and the singer’s aunt, she immediately was taken with the gorgeous abode and as the group went outside to look at the pool, Oprah told Monica that her ‘good daughter’ had a surprise.

Oprah Winfrey’s New Word Added To The Dictionary

World famous talk show host, Oprah Winfrey now has a word own a word created and added to the English dictionary. The word is “Aha moment” which is defined thus,”a moment of sudden realization, inspiration, insight, recognition, or comprehension.”

In a video segment for Merriam-Webster, Oprah added her own insight to the term, saying, “I always love those moments when I sit down to talk to somebody and they say something that makes me look at life or a situation in a completely different way. And I say, ‘Aha! I get it!’ Light bulb! Bing, bing, bing moment. And the little hairs on your arm stand up. That is an aha moment.”
